Explore Bellevue Botanical Garden

Bellevue Botanical Garden is open from dawn to dusk every day of the year, including Labor Day, and admission is free. Explore 53 acres of cultivated gardens, restored woodlands and natural wetlands, including the Ravine Experience suspension bridge. Dahlias are in season, and the Dahlia Display is the perfect place to revel in a kaleidoscope of color and texture.

Free parking is available, but the lot can fill quickly on sunny weekends. On Saturday, September 5, the garden has a full calendar of events, including nature journaling and a fall plant sale.

Visit the Animals at Kelsey Creek Farm

Just minutes from downtown, Kelsey Creek Farm features 150 acres and is open from dawn to dusk every day of the year. Farm animals are generally available for viewing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., although they can vary. Look for ponies, goats, sheep, cows, pigs and rabbits, then continue along the surrounding park trails or bring lunch for a picnic. This paved trail offers a more ambitious outing with expansive views across Lake Washington.
